Tracker Blocking
Tracker Blocker: Stop Third-Party Scripts from Following You
ProBlocker blocks tracker requests from Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, and hundreds of other data brokers and analytics platforms before they can load on any website you visit.
What Are Trackers?
Trackers are third-party JavaScript files loaded by websites that monitor what pages you visit, how long you stay, what you click, and what you search for. This data is sent to data brokers and ad networks to build behavioral profiles used for targeted advertising.
Common trackers include Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, Hotjar, Mixpanel, Segment, DoubleClick, and hundreds of lesser-known analytics and advertising SDKs.
How ProBlocker Blocks Trackers
ProBlocker uses the EasyPrivacy filter list and supplementary tracker blocking lists. When a website tries to load a tracker script from a known tracking domain, ProBlocker cancels the request before it reaches the tracker's server. The tracker never runs, never receives your data, and never adds your visit to your profile.
Trackers ProBlocker Blocks
| Tracker type | Examples | What it collects |
|---|---|---|
| Analytics | Google Analytics, Plausible, Mixpanel | Page views, session data, user flows |
| Ad targeting | Facebook Pixel, Google Ads, DoubleClick | Conversion events, behavioral data for ad targeting |
| Behavioral analytics | Hotjar, FullStory, Mouseflow | Mouse movements, clicks, scroll depth, session recordings |
| Data brokers | Lotame, LiveRamp, Nielsen | Cross-site identity data for audience segments |
| Fingerprinting | Various canvas/audio fingerprinting scripts | Browser fingerprint for tracking without cookies |
Does Blocking Trackers Break Websites?
Most websites function normally without tracker scripts — these scripts serve the website's analytics and advertising needs, not users. In rare cases, a site may have core functionality tied to a tracking service (for example, a site that uses Google Analytics for A/B testing of page load). ProBlocker's whitelist feature lets you re-enable on specific sites if needed.
