AdGuard Acceptable Ads
The AdGuard browser extension has Acceptable Ads enabled by default. To disable it: open AdGuard → Preferences → Filters → uncheck "Acceptable Ads." After this change, AdGuard blocks all ads matching its filter rules.
When AdGuard Makes Sense
AdGuard's paid products (AdGuard for Windows/Mac, AdGuard DNS) provide system-level blocking across all apps and browsers, not just the browser extension. If you want DNS-level blocking or mobile app ad blocking, AdGuard's paid tier addresses those needs.
When ProBlocker Makes Sense
If you want browser-level blocking with a fully open-source, permanently free extension and no Acceptable Ads at any level, ProBlocker is the simpler choice.
